Privacy

Your use of the California Public Employers Labor Relations Association’s (CALPELRA’s) web site (www.calpelra.org) and related applications is voluntary. By using the site or providing your personal information to CALPELRA, you agree to the collection and use of the information as set forth in this privacy policy.

What CALPELRA Collects

CALPELRA collects personally identifiable information including but not limited to full names (first, last, and any middle), physical address, e-mail address, telephone number, device information, browser information, other identifiers, or payment information when you:

  • Enter your information with CALPELRA online;
  • Save your information with CALPELRA online;
  • Subscribe to or receive our e-mail messages;
  • Register for CAPELRA’s programs;
  • Attend virtual or in-person trainings and other programs;
  • Submit evaluations of our programs;
  • Enter a prize drawing associated with any of our programs;
  • Communicate with CALPELRA through social media; and/or
  • Visit our web site (see discussion of cookies below).

We may use your personally identifiable information for any of the following:

  • To display information, trainings, or services that may be of interest to you;
  • To customize the content of our web site or related applications;
  • To learn your preferences and improve your web site experience;
  • To identify and address problems with our web site;
  • To analyze our users’ areas of interest;
  • To protect the integrity of our web site and related applications; and/or
  • To contact you for CALPELRA-related business.

You have the right to opt out of receiving communications from us (see Communication Opt Out below).

What CALPELRA Shares

We may share your personally identifiable information in the following ways:

  • If you join CALPELRA as a Member or Friend, unless you opt out of being included in the member directory, we list information you have provided to us including your name, title, agency, phone number, e-mail address, and photo in our Member Directory. This Directory is accessible to other CALPELRA Members and Friends through CALPELRA’s web site.
  • If you register for CALPELRA’s Annual Conference, unless you opt out entirely or choose to suppress specific information, we will share your name, agency, title, and e-mail address with others who attend the Annual Conference
  • If you register for CALPELRA’s Annual Conference we will share your name, title, agency, and department with CALPELRA’s Annual Conference Exhibitors and Sponsors; we also will share your e-mail address with Annual Conference Exhibitors and Sponsors if you authorize us to do so when you register for the Conference.
  • If you request professional credit for attending our programs (e.g. MCLE, HRCI, or SHRM credit), we will share information regarding your identity and details regarding your participation in our programs as required by the State Bar, HRCI, SHRM, or similar credit-granting organization.
  • We may contract with other companies to provide services to CALPELRA and users of our web site and related applications (e.g., e-mail distribution, payment processing, subscription management, other data management, etc.). We will provide those companies with the information they need to render the services. Our agreements with those companies state that they may use the personally identifiable information about our users only to provide the services we request.
  • We may share information in response to a subpoena, court order, or when required by law. We also may share information to assist in fraud or other criminal investigations or as needed to protect our rights and interests (e.g., to protect against malware, phishing, or similar intrusions).

Data Retention: Cookies

Strictly Necessary Cookies

These are cookies that are required for the operation of our web site and cannot be switched off. They include, for example, cookies that enable you to log into secure areas of our web site or use a shopping cart.

  • ASP.NET_SessionId: This cookie stores additional information about your authentication status. Duration: session.
  • Asi.Web.Browser.CookiesEnabled: This cookie stores a value indicating whether your browser allows cookies. Duration: session.
  • cookieconsent_status: This cookie stores your response when you choose to accept or reject cookies. Duration: 12 months.
  • AnonymousCartID: This cookies stores cart information when you choose to add an item to the cart before logging in. Duration: 14 days.

Analytical, Performance Cookies

We may use Google Analytics to collect anonymized data about users in order to help us improve our website. These cookies collect information in a way that does not directly identify anyone, including the number of visitors, where the visitors have come to the website from and the pages they visited.  You may choose to opt out of being tracked by Google Analytics cookies across all websites.

  • _ga: Used to distinguish users. Duration: session.
  • _gid: Used to distinguish users. Duration: session.
  • _gat: Used to throttle request rate. Duration: session.
  • AMP_TOKEN: Contains a token that can be used to retrieve a Client ID from AMP Client ID service. Other possible values indicate opt-out, inflight request or an error retrieving a Client ID from AMP Client ID service. Duration: session.
  • _dc_gtm_<property-id>: Contains campaign-related information for the user. Duration: session.

Functionality Cookies

These cookies are used to provide enhanced functionality of our web site, to make it easier to use, and to recognize you when you return to our web site. This enables us to personalize our content for you, greet you by name and remember your preferences. When you reject cookies on our site these cookies will not be placed.

You may view and change your communication preferences, including opting out, by logging into your account on this web site and navigating to MyCALPELRA. You also may unsubscribe from specific communication lists using the appropriate link in the applicable e-mail communication.
