Introduction
With their highly interactive approach, excellent content, and outstanding trainers,
CALPELRA’s Labor Relations Academies have become the standard for national public employer labor relations training. Whether you want a systematic approach to the basics or want to deepen one area of
your labor relations skills, CALPELRA's Labor Relations Academies will provide you with valuable training.
Basic
Academies
Take one or all of the basic Academies, in any order. Take all three of the basic Academies to earn your CALPELRA Labor Relations Academy Master certification (CLRM). Learn more about the

Advanced Academies
For an in-depth look at more challenging aspects of labor relations, consider a more advanced Labor Relations Academy. There are generally no prerequisites for taking these Academies other than a desire to learn.

Trainers
All the Labor Relations Academy trainers are individuals with years of substantial experience in California
labor relations and employment law. Academy participants have awarded them the highest ratings
and accolades. Please see each Academy’s page for more information about specific trainers.
Labor Relations Academy Fees*:
CALPELRA Member: $345
Non-Member: $399
CALPELRA members: Join CALPELRAConnect and save $45 on one Academy registration! Offer applies to any CALPELRA member who joins CALPELRAConnect between June 10, 2010, and June 30, 2011. The $45 discount can be applied to any Academy specially marked on the Academy schedule.
Included In The Fees
The registration fee includes all materials for this program, a resource book, continental breakfast,
refreshments, and lunch. Hotel costs are not included in the fees
and each attendee must make independent hotel reservations directly with a nearby hotel.
Ensure You Are Enrolled
To keep the training interactive and valuable, participation at each Academy is limited to 72
people. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis, based on date payment is
received by CALPELRA. Please confirm your registration
before making travel commitments. Complete a separate registration form for each attendee. No registrations will be accepted via fax, e-mail, or
telephone.
Cancellation / Refund Policy
CALPELRA will not refund Labor Academy registration fees for cancellations. Registration fees paid may be applied to another CALPELRA event or activity within one year of cancelled activity; all requests for transfer of registration fees must be made in writing. If you cancel your registration after the cutoff date for an Academy, you will forfeit your registration fees, and you may not apply them to a later Academy. Please see the Academy schedule for cancellation cutoff dates.
Times
Registration Check-In: 7:30 a.m.
Program: 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
To earn a certificate, full attendance is required at Academy programs. The Academy differs from
our Conference workshops and programs where attendees may arrive and depart at will. No one
will be admitted 20 minutes after the start of the Academy program. Unavoidable absence during
part or all of any program of an Academy day will be recorded. The absentee will be required to
make up the specific program segment prior to receiving a certificate for that Academy.
