35th Annual Conference

Over its 35 year history, CALPELRA's Annual Training Conference has brought together management labor relations and human resources professionals to listen, interact, and learn from experts and each other.

As labor relations and human resources professionals are coping with the effects of the economy, working to find creative ways of handling dwindling budgets and continued demands, and dealing with particularly difficult labor contract negotiations, the training and networking opportunities CALPELRA's Annual Training Conference offers are now more necessary and helpful than ever.

Register at last year's rates ...

As part of CALPELRA’s continuing efforts to better accommodate its members’ and Conference participants’ changing needs during this time of economic crisis, CALPELRA’s Board of Directors has frozen the 2010 Annual Conference registration rates at last year's rates. Registration fees include all Conference general and concurrent sessions, and all networking and social events (including Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday night receptions; Wednesday and Thursday lunches; Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday breakfasts, coffee, and breaks).

Member*

  • "Really Early": Registration form postmarked before or on June 30, 2010; payment postmarked or made before or on July 10, 2010: $550

  • "Early": Postmarked with payment or paid on-line before or on September 30: $633

  • "Regular": Postmarked with payment or paid on-line on or after October 1: $885

*You must be a 2010-2011 paid member in order to take advantage of the 2010 member registration rates. Please be sure you are a 2010-2011 member before beginning the registration process. You may join or renew your membership for 2010-2011 now and take advantage of the member rates.

Non-Member
  • "Early": Postmarked with payment or paid on-line before or on September 30: $885

  • "Regular": Postmarked with payment or paid on-line AFTER October 1: $978

Annual Conference Session Handouts

As part of its continuing effort to become a greener organization, CALPELRA will not be providing paper copies of speakers’ handout materials. But these materials will be available on CALPELRA’s Web site before the Annual Conference. Be sure to check CALPELRA’s Web site before the Conference, and download or print the materials for those sessions you plan to attend.

Annual Conference Cancellation And Refund Policy

CALPELRA will not refund Annual Conference registration fees for cancellations. Registration fees paid may be applied to another CALPELRA event or activity within one year of the cancelled activity.

Training Certification And Credits

  • MCLE credit for California attorneys.

  • HRCI certification for selected concurrent sessions.

Guests

Family members, children, and/or guests are welcome to attend receptions. Tickets for the Wednesday and Thursday lunches and the Wednesday and Thursday night receptions are available through on-line registration and on-site at the Conference registration. Please note that tickets must be purchased in advance and are not available at the door. Anyone attending the Thursday night reception must bring photo I.D.

Recommended Dress

Casual, comfortable clothing is encouraged. Please leave business attire behind. Jeans, sneakers (or platform shoes), and sweaters are appropriate for this Conference!

Book Faire

Do you like to read? Is your guest complaining about having nothing to do? Do you want to start your holiday gift shopping, or just need a break from the concurrent and general sessions? If so, come over and browse books and gifts at our Book Faire in the Portola Room. Luminata Books in Monterey will be hosting this year's Book Faire, and offering Conference participants a 15% discount.

Exhibitors And Prize Drawings

Conference participants may enter the Exhibitor Booth raffle drawing. Just visit each CALPELRA exhibitor booth and have your Exhibitor Card (provided in your Conference registration packet) stamped by the exhibitor. When you have all the exhibitors’ stamps on your card, simply drop it in the drawing box located in the CALPELRA registration area. See the 2010 Conference Program booklet for drawing times. You must be present to win.
